Plan International Mozambique
‘I coordinated the international consortium which conducted the final evaluation of phase two of the McGovern-Dole Food for Education project, implemented in Mozambique by Planet Aid and a team of implementing partners, including ADPP Mozambique. Apolowil conducted the quantitative data collection component of the evaluation and also provided transcription of approximately 70 focus group and key informant interviews. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the evaluation used mainly remote methods, including collecting data via four mobile phone surveys, of which three were self- administered on smart phones and one was administered by research assistants by phone calls in Portuguese or local languages. Apolowil performed these functions with great professionalism and competence and worked cooperatively and responsively as part of an international team across three continents. They showed they were able to perform effectively within the challenging context of conducting fieldwork in Mozambique, with the added constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic’
